Disclaimer: This calculation is based on the
fertilizer application requirements of one pound of nitrogen (N) per 2 inches of tree diameter for trees up to a diameter of 12 inches and 1/4 pound of nitrogen (N) per 2 inches of tree diameter for trees larger then 14 inches and is only meant to assist the Master Gardener in determining the appropriate amount of fertilizer that may be applied evenly beneath the branch spread and 10 feet or more beyond. The results are only as accurate as the data entered and is not designed or intended to serve as a substitute for measurement of coverage areas, calibration of equipment and the use of soil tests. You should act in accordance to the standard practices involved in the application of fertilizer.
